Fatima /  Obidos / Nazare / Batalha

Your trip includes a visit to one of the most charming medieval villages in the country — Óbidos, with its walls and cobblestone streets We pass through two sacred places in this country: Nazaré and Fátima. Start the Tour in Óbidos, get ready to travel back in time: between medieval walls, narrow alleys, and colourful houses, this village is a true living postcard — the kind you’ll want to keep forever. In Nazaré, the sacred is divided between the sea and faith. It is a place of worship for surfers, thanks to the gigantic waves of Praia do Norte, which have challenged world records. Here, you can also visit the lighthouse and the famous promontory where those impressive walls of water are formed. At the same time, it is a traditional fishing village, with fish drying in the sun and stories of generations tied to the sea. In Batalha, the majestic Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as an impressive testament to Portuguese Gothic architecture. A place where history and art come together, making every step a journey into the past. Fátima is the centre of the Catholic faith and a place of pilgrimage for people from all over the world. Its Sanctuary — which received Pope Francis in 2017, on the occasion of the centenary of the apparitions — is a must-visit, regardless of one’s faith. The serene and symbolic atmosphere of the place speaks for itself.

The first people in the Algarve were traders and Estate stewards that established their colonies on the coast. Algarve was part of the Roman province of Lusitania, later becoming part of Visigoth jurisdiction. The most important fact in its history is its five centuries of Arab occupation, visible in the architecture of the region. The Algarve became a lot more important during the Discoveries, being used as one of the main departure ports. Today it is considered as one of the most wonderful resorts by the sea.
